Hammer time! Duh duh duh dun.

Hammer curls are so fun! What’s notable here is that your hands stay neutral, meaning that you don’t turn your wrists upward as you curl (like you do on a traditional biceps curl). 

To do the hammer curl:

  • stand tall with abs and glutes engaged
  • squeeze your back to secure your shoulders in place
  • bend at the elbows and bring the dumbbells in front of you, not moving elbows or shoulders forward or back
  • squeeze at the top
  • control the descent
