Inside Cat makes an appearance on One Exercise a Day

A throwback to one of my favorites; starting the week strong!

Tempo squats give you the benefits of goblet squats and bodyweight squats: lower body work, leg, glute and torso strength.

Slowing it down makes it uniquely challenging as well. By slowing it down, your form will improve since you aren’t rushing through tough spots.

You’ll get more work out of it, and that’s a good thing!

To do tempo squats:

  • press elbows toward each other and keep trunk tight and neutral
  • break at the hips to initiate squat -sit deep into heels, slowly counting for the appropriate tempo
  • squeeze big toe into the ground as you stand

Today, take a tempo of 5 seconds down, 1 second pause at the bottom, and regular pace up. Aim for 5-8 reps. Have a great day, and I’ll see you tomorrow!
