lateral raise with Kathryn of One Exercise a Day

The lateral raise is great shoulder work! It’s pretty and functional 🙂

To do the lateral raise:

  • hold a dumbbell in each hand if you have them
  • stand tall
  • keep your arms straight but not locked
  • reach for the sides of the room as you bring the dumbbells to shoulder level
  • control the return to the start position

Give me 10-12 here if you are using weights, and 20-30 if you are just using your arms. In this case, don’t quite bring your arms all the way back to your sides.
