Pause squats with Kathryn Alexander on Mardi Gras! One Exercise a Day

Just in time for Mardi Gras!

Pause squats are fantastic for developing some strength and endurance, depending on the parameters.

Today, weight is optional.

To do the pause squat:

  • set up like you would your regular squat
  • brace your torso at a hard neutral
  • pull the bar into your back and shrug into it
  • sit to your squat position
  • pause at the bottom for your goal number of seconds
  • drive straight up WITHOUT dipping down first

Do about 3 here. Your choice how long you pause, 10-30 seconds, but make it REAL! You can do it 🙂
